The rain has come and all but hampered work on the boat.  In between storms we have found time to play and today will be my third day on the water in as many boats.

Saturday I was kidnapped from the office by my good friend Owen for some much needed time on the water.  I have this little trick I play on newbie sailors and sailorets  like Jennifer.  I get them out in near perfect conditions, get them hooked and back to the dock wanting more.  Little by little we push farther on each trip so by the time they see thier first gale at sea they are completely comfortable and have already fallen in love with the lifestyle.

Owen has only been sailing a few years but has been racing with some of the best sailors in the world, it wont be long before the student becomes the teacher, He is sailing to Hawaii in July.

Jennifer is a water girl and she picked sailing up like a champ, she was such a natural that I have given her a pirate name on her first trip, she will from now on only be referred to as Ellie Mae, pirate vixen of the Salish Sea.

Its a tough job but somebody’s got to do it.
